Fabio shows his fair-play

Fabio Cannavaro is a leader and he proved so again in the game against Ecuador, showing his fair-play.
You all recall how Rivaldo behaved when hit by a ball by Hakan Unsal? (He got fined for his lack of fair play). Well, Fabio Cannavaro behaved in a much different way in the game against Ecuador. In the opening minutes of the game, he was hit hard in the face by Edwin Tenorio, but Fabio did not put on any scene, showing his fair play.

"I watched this play on television and it wasn't funny. I have to thank my teammates because they were the first to tell me not to lose my cool. Maldini was the first one to come to talk to me, and tell me not to go looking for revenges."
Cannavaro concludes: "It isn't pleasent to get a blow to the face, but I didn't say anything. Many people watch the World Cup, so I didn't want to make a fool of myself. To go looking for revenges is the worst thing I could have done."

Fabio Cannavaro hopes that Fifa will review on tape what happened against Ecuador: "It would just be fair that for this episode the tv were used. Five minutes have gone by and he hit me in the face as we were moving inside the area. I guess he was trying to warn me, but there are other ways to do so. You can tackle from behind, but don't punch someone."
